When Rihanna released teasers to her new project on Instagram I, among others, was intrigued to find out what it would be. I was so excited when I found out it was a lingerie range, I imagined it to be so edgy and sexy and the sneak peaks and previews were giving me such high hopes. But when the collection was released, and I jumped straight online to have a look, I was massively disappointed… It just isn’t what I expected, its not sexy, the colours are bland and the lingerie looks like any underwear you can buy in Topshop or even M&S. The best thing about the collection is the diversity of sizes. Similarly to the Fenty Beauty foundation colours she has been praised for making products for all women, no matter your skin colour or size. This is definitely a step in the right direction, making all women feel good and comfortable in their intimates.

I also found that the build up, such as the promo pictures and videos, were such a vibe! They screamed Rihanna, sex, empowerment, dark but the website didn’t really deliver in the same way and I think that it’s so important for all aspects of the brand to link and be continuos.
