I Didn't Go To New York . . .

So, it’s the 9th of January and everyone on my course went to New York yesterday for a week. They will be going to exhibitions, museums, galleries, shops and FIT. I am unbelievably jealous but unfortunately I just couldn’t afford to go. I either had to sacrifice not eating for a few months or not going to NYC, and as I’m an ‘adult’ now I have to make realistic decisions. I follow a few of the girls on my course on Instagram and no doubt they will be uploading pictures every day so I am so excited to see what they get up to! As I’m not there I decided to look online at NYC and see some of the places that I could have gone and hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to go some other time!
Fashion Institute of Technology
OMG, when I found out this is where they were going to go I was so upset! After hearing about the University last year I have dreamed about getting the chance to go there to just look around and see the way of life there. Calvin Klein and Michael Kors are some of the star studded alumni to attend FIT. There is also a museum at FIT that house hundreds of collections from the 18th century to present day. Designers such as Balenciaga, Dior and Chanel have garments held there.

Victoria’s Secret Flagship Store
It is the worlds largest VS store, located on Fifth Avenue. Not only would I be excited to shop there but on the top floor is a secret museum which shows off looks from past seasons. I absolutely love the shows that VS put on so to see the garments that I would recognise from the collections would be incredible! If you’re ever in NYC this is an absolute must!

The Museum of Modern Art
Another place on my bucket list is MOMA. I absolutely love galleries and art museums but this one is so iconic. It is considered one of the largest and most influential museums in the world. It is home to some of the most famous paintings… Water Lillies by Claude Monet, Campbell’s Soup Cans by Andy Warhol, The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gough. All paintings that would be amazing to see up close and personal.

Have you ever been to any of these places? Where else in New York would you recommend ?
