Missguided recently posted some new underwear onto their online store and the image of the model shocked everyone. Missguided has chosen to use a woman with stretch marks, and they didn’t remove them. People on twitter had mixed responses. Some thought it was beautiful, some thought it was an accident and some down right hated it. They have said “We strive on female empowerment and we want all of our babes to #keeponbeingyou, celebrate what makes you unique, embrace your “flaws” and truly #MakeYourMark!” And as a brand, they have pledged to never retouch their models imperfections. I’m so happy that a brand as respected and well known as Misguided has decided to make a stand and uplift how women feel about themselves in this society that is full of expectations to look and act a certain way. I also think that it was very brave of them as it could cause some backlash from people who, unfortunately, think that women should always look perfect and without any lumps and bumps.
