If you haven’t heard of Sophia, then where have you been? Just in case you are clueless I’ll quickly explain what, or who, she is. Sophia is an extremely lifelike, social humanoid robot developed by a Hong-Kong company. She has been covered by all major media outlets in the past few months and some interviewers love how sophisticated her responses are. She has cameras inside her eyes which allows her to see, she can follow faces and recognise emotions. She can also talk and understand conversations and earlier this month she was updated with working legs allowing her to move around.
Something that caught my attention yesterday was an image of Sophia on the cover of Stylist magazine. I immediately had a look online to see what was going on. So, for their 400th issue that let a team of robots take over. This robot take over shows how technology is constantly evolving and how innovative it continues to be.

Sophia took part in an interview and answered a number of questions. When asked about the meaning of life, she responded: ‘This is a uniquely human characteristic – to ponder the meaning of life. I’m more concerned about being, about discovery and creation. I think the meaning of life is to maximise pattern existence. To exist is the meaning itself.’
How crazy is all of this? Who would have thought that one day a robot would be the cover star of a fashion magazine and a team of robots would write a few articles. I will definitely be purchasing this issue because I believe it will go down in history…
