There has been rumours of a new TV series written by Ryan Murphy all about the assassination of Gianna Versace and the events leading up to it. It is definitely a show that I would be excited to watch but I know how series’ like this can be quite deceptive and only show you want they want you to see so I decided that I would research into his life and death a bit more before the show comes out.

Gianni Versace founded his fashion brand in 1978, the main collection produces upmarket, Italian, ready to wear and leather accessories. The brand is known for bright colours and crazy prints. It is said that he chose a Medusa head as the brand logo because people fell in love with Medusa and couldn’t turn back, and that’s how he wanted people to feel about his fashion.
In 1997 Gianni, age 50, was shot dead on the steps of his Miami beach mansion. He was murdered by a serial killer and Versace was the fifth and final victim of the killer. No one knows why the killer chose Gianni Versace to murder, did he have motive or was he just another random victim? Gianni’s sister Donatello (pictured above) took over as head of design and his brother now serves as CEO of the company.
It is such an awful tragedy that Gianni was taken before his time, he presumably had so much more to give and I think the company would have just excelled by every collection that he produced. I cannot wait to see how Ryan Murphy portrays the life of the Versace family before and after Gianni’s death so I will definitely be an avid watcher of the series when it comes out next year.
Will you be interested in watching it??
