The Power of Words

A few weeks ago we had a lecture looking at how text can alter the meaning of an image. We then got set the task to use our images from the photoshoot and add alternative text to create 4 completely different promotional pieces. The first piece we had to do was a positive interpretation of the image, so we had to do a advertisement streamline, for this we had to look into a brand, market level and consumer. The second piece was also a positive interpretation but this time we had to design an album cover, thinking about the artist, genre and listener. The next part of the task was to create a negative interpretation of the image, so an article headline, we needed an intention, a context and a story. Lastly, which is also my favourite, we were asked to create a graffiti parody of the image. When we were set this task I immediately panicked as I thought you would need to be quite witty to add text however once I sat down with the images, it became fun to play around with words.
Enjoy the images!
